History of Silver Lake

Cemetery Lake was created by the 1920’s as an agricultural lake east of the Loveland Burial Park. It remained Cemetery Lake until housing development began there in the 1960s. The name was changed around that time to Silver Lake. The first houses were built on the south side of  the lake in the early 1960s. Now the lake is almost completely enclosed by single-family homes, with some open space on the west side.
